It is no surprise then that they’ve taken the third-person action elements and co-op features of that game and expanded upon it to offer a new product, while still servicing fans of the core series through recent handheld releases and what we expect will be a Resident Evil 6 more in line with the series’ survival horror roots....

The title, which is 70% done, according to Capcom PR, will trade in storytelling for the fast-paced, time limited gameplay that has made “Mercenaries” one of the most enjoyable aspects of recent Resident Evil games. If you were interested in a story driven Resident Evil game for the 3DS, you can always have another look at the trailer for Resident Evil: Revelations. As for Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D, information obtained from the Japanese publication Famitsu offered plenty of information regarding characters and gameplay....

Moreover, Capcom has announced that the PC version will go live on Steam in March, and will make great use of all Valve’s digital distribution service has to offer (i.e. cloud saving, achievements, etc.). Included with the PC release will also be every current update to Resident Evil 6 including the ability to access the no-longer-secret Ada Wong campaign and the ‘No Hope’ difficulty setting. It’s not exactly a major selling point for this particular version, but for those that like a little better graphical fidelity, or who just love PC gaming, at least the game is getting a release....

While the first version of Resistance’s multiplayer was passable and, for some, a worthwhile distraction, others found it to be a bit perfunctory. In service of creating an experience that was both well rounded and felt interconnected in every dimension, developer Insomniac Games, when working on the second Resistance, moved to a co-op oriented multiplayer that abandoned the competition element altogether.Unfortunately, Insomniac’s bold choice didn’t quite pay off and the developer was left scratching their heads as to what would keep Resistance players coming again and again....
